Lord,

Thank you for Your blessings, and for this Scripture verse which we have in the Bible to read together. October, we have desired to learn how we ought to be living and praying to You in regards to our financial health. We are learning that You may be protecting us. Because of our own sins, our relationships with You and the blessing of heavenly riches may be compromised by gaining worldly wealth.

God, the tithe, which you put name to a tenth, was to be brought to Your house. This verse in Malachi is the only place in the Bible—and it discusses our finances—where You, God, ask us to TEST YOU! Bring all the tithes into the storehouse…test Me…I will open the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing, until you can take no more!

Take our feelings and comfort any and all of our fears which we have regarding this subject, Lord. We desire to put off our old selves and be molded into the image of You! We desire to obey You, not by way of eye-service or as people-pleasers, but with a sincerity of heart for You only, God. Knowing that from You, Lord, are our inheritance—the true reward. Jesus died on the cross and purchased our way into eternal life with You!
